U?ak University was founded in 2006 in Usak in the Aegean region of Turkey.
The university has 12 faculties, three vocational undergraduate schools, 11 pre-undergraduate vocational colleges, three postgraduate institutes and 27 research centres.
The 12 faculties are: dentistry; education; arts and sciences; fine arts; communication; economics and administrative sciences; theology; architecture and design; engineering; sport sciences; medicine and agriculture.
Students have access to a range of clubs and societies, including sports clubs such as: dance and music, winter sports, bicycle club, and geography and nature sports. There are a number of cultural associations such as: African student association; academic thought and education and civilization society.
There is a student bazaar with many amenities such as: hairdressers, supermarkets, and caf¨¦s. In addition, there is the Sehit Omer Halis Halisdemir Indoor Sports Complex, with a half-Olympic size swimming pool and basketball court.
The university offers international study abroad opportunities with its international partner organisations. It is part of the Erasmus+ programme, allowing students to participate in exchange programmes in Europe. The involvement in exchange programmes across the world makes for a more cultural university experience and increases diversity on campus to allow students to learn from their peers.
The city of U?ak has a wide variety of cultural and recreational offerings, including the U?ak City History Museum, city park, Atapark, and mosque Cakaloz Camii.
