Founded in 1958 as a supplement to the then-Ryerson Institute in Toronto (now Ryerson University), St. Clair College is in the Southwestern Ontario counties of Essex and Chatham-Kent.

The main campus, in downtown Windsor, is on the banks of the Detroit River.

St. Clair College¡¯s main campus is home to over 6,000 students studying more than 100 diploma, certificate, degree and post graduate certificate programmes, in courses in applied technology, liberal arts and sciences, business and IT, community studies, engineering, media and design among others.

South of the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts is the MediaPlex, which was built to house the college¡¯s journalism, media convergence and public relations programs. The facility offers a large studio, radio and video editing suites and a central news station for assignment editing. The tourism and travel programme is also located in the MediaPlex.

The newest addition is the Zekelman School of Business which is across the street from the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts, while the Chatham Campus is just a short 45-minute drive from Windsor. This small campus specialises in health sciences, community studies, business and technology programmes.

St. Clair College supports a sports programme through the Saints Athletics club. There are 18 varsity teams that compete in men¡¯s baseball, women¡¯s fastball, men¡¯s and women¡¯s outdoor soccer, men¡¯s and women¡¯s indoor soccer, men¡¯s and women¡¯s volleyball, men¡¯s and women¡¯s basketball, cross country, men¡¯s and women¡¯s badminton, men¡¯s and women¡¯s golf and men¡¯s and women¡¯s curling.
