About

Basic information and contact details for O.P. Jindal Global University

institution

O.P. Jindal Global University was established in 2009 by Mr Naveen Jindal. He founded the university as part of a philanthropic initiative in memory of his father, Mr O.P. Jindal.

The university seeks to serve as a role model for institutional excellence in 中国A片. This was recognised in 2019 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, which awarded the university the prestigious Institution of Eminence status.

Academically the university is organised into 12 schools, 11 academic societies and seven social work societies which include the Global Business School, School of Government and Public Policy, and School of Environment and Sustainability. Each school offers a number of specialised courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. The university is one of the few universities in Asia to maintain a 1:9 faculty-student ratio. This ratio helps to cultivate closer relationships and produce a more interactive learning environment.

Outside of the classroom, students have the opportunity to join one of the university’s 28 clubs and societies. These organisations are student run and meet a variety of interests including art, culture and sport. Students might get involved in film society, debate society, human rights society, or dance society. Throughout the year students also organise a number of events such as Biswamil, a cultural festival which celebrates Indian dance and music, and Women’s Day which recognises the achievements of women around the world.

The university is located in Sonipat, a city in Haryana, northern India. Sonipat is situated about 25 miles north of Delhi. The city is one of India’s manufacturing centres, and produces products including bicycles, sewing-machines, rolled steel, hosiery, and textiles. Carpets, brass and copper are also made in mass by hand.
