NPTC Group of Colleges was established in 2013 following a merger between Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys. It is one of the largest further education providers in Wales, covering 30 per cent of the country’s landmass.
The student body totals more than 270,000.
NPTC is one of the largest colleges in Wales with nine campuses stretching from the south to the north. These include Neath College, Afan College, Brecon Beacons College, Newtown College, Pontardawe College, Swansea Construction Centre, Llandarcy Academy of Sport, and Maesteg Construction Centre.
There is a range of full and part-time A Level, vocational and apprenticeship courses available at NPTC. They are organised into 11 main subject areas: business, tourism and management, computing and digital technology, construction and the built environment, creative, visual and performing arts, catering, hospitality, agriculture and horticulture, engineering and automotive, foundation studies, hairdressing and applied therapies, health, social and childcare, building engineering services, and sport and public services.
The Student Zone is responsible for offering students free help, advice and guidance in a welcoming and confidential environment. The team provide support in a range of areas including the application and admission process, student finance, transitioning from school to college, and careers advice.
