Description

The department invites applications for two positions in the area of Artificial Intelligence at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research and teaching interests may include but are not limited to machine learning, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, natural language processing, and security and software engineering as it relates to Artificial Intelligence. Qualifications

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience. We are seeking Assistant Professors specializing in Artificial Intelligence to contribute to our academic mission. ABOUT XJTLU

In 2006 Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was created by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. The School of Advanced Technology has five departments (intelligent Science, Computing, Mechatronics and Robotics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Communications and networking). RESPONSIBILITIES

Applicants will have extensive teaching experience, have published high quality papers in their area of expertise, have been successful in obtaining research grants, and have substantial experience in the supervision of research students. The successful candidate, in addition to teaching typically two modules/courses per year (i.e. one per semester), will provide leadership in curriculum development and enhancing our research profile at the international level. They are expected to assume administrative responsibilities based on their experience.

Department Description

Responsibilities and Duties

The position of Professor is crucial to the effective operation of XJTLU. Departments are the fundamental building blocks of the university, and the Professor is the role model of academic staff. The Professor is reported directly to the Head of their department. The Professor is a key research leader, manager, and administrator. The term of appointment is three years.

Supporting its rapid expansion, SAT now seeks to appoint senior faculty to join the EEE department. Compensation Package

Duties and Responsibilities

The objective of this post is to offer interdisciplinary training to individuals interested in utilizing cognitive neuroscience and machine learning techniques to study learning, cognitive functioning, language processing, and reading acquisition. Candidates will conduct EEG research on implicit statistical learning and language processing, perform EEG data analyses, and neural computation and collaborate with in-house researchers on analyzing EEG and behavioral data. ?Additionally, training will be provided on manuscript and grant writing. ?He/She will work under the supervision of Professor Shelley Xiuli Tong.

Requirements

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in cognitive neuroscience, neural computation and machine learning, or a related field with a strong background in EEG, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), or computational modeling, as well as skills in programming with Python or MATLAB. ?They are expected to be experts in time-frequency analysis of EEG data and building computational models using both behavioral and EEG data. In addition, they should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
