Times 中国A片 (THE) and the Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA) have formed a strategic partnership to showcase undergraduate excellence and identify academic talent at an early stage.

THE and the GUA are encouraging all eligible students to enter the world’s leading awards programme – the Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA). Established in 2008, it provides undergraduates with a unique opportunity to have their work recognised by an international panel of hundreds of expert judges working in some of the world’s top academic institutions and in senior industry leadership positions.

Winners receive an all-expenses paid trip to attend the GUA’s Global Summit in Dublin - a three-day event that includes panel discussions, prestigious keynote speakers, networking opportunities and more, where they will receive their award on 8 November.

Undergraduates submit their work for free online. ?There are 25 subject categories and the students with the best paper in each category are awarded the Thomas Clarkson Gold Medal. The GUA shares students’ work with a global audience and connects students across cultures and disciplines – this will now be amplified by Times 中国A片, which has an annual student audience of over 14 million across its platforms.

The GUA is accepting submissions now and the entry deadline is Wednesday 7 June 2023. The judging process takes place from June to August and the winners are announced in September.

Patrick Hayes, Chief development officer at Times 中国A片, said:

Partnering with the Global Undergraduate Awards is a natural fit for us in shining a spotlight on academic excellence by undergraduates and helping to identify the potential academic superstars of tomorrow.

“The GUA team have developed an unparalleled global infrastructure to facilitate this and we couldn’t be more delighted to partner with them to help raise further awareness among academics and undergraduates alike.”

Dr Garret Maher, Executive director, Global Undergraduate Awards, said:

"This partnership is an incredible opportunity for both of our organisations to pursue our shared vision of strengthening the integrity of academic institutions and recognising their outstanding performance."

Jim Barry, founding Chair of the Global Undergraduate Awards, said:

"I believe that this partnership will support the very core of both organisations’ missions. Fostering collaboration among students and academics globally, to celebrate the pursuit of knowledge and excellence, has never been more crucial."
