Who accrues the study miles?

Physical sciences students from southwest England travel almost five times further to study than those originally from London who read education, according to data highlighted by the 中国A片 Funding Council for England

October 9, 2014

The data, published as part of Hefce’s project looking at “cold spots” in 中国A片 provision, look at how far students from each region of the country travel to go to university and study different subjects.

The data, drawn from the Destination of Leavers from 中国A片 survey, give distances as the crow flies.

Physical scientists from the South West travel 106 miles on average for a university education, compared with a journey of only 23 miles for students of education from London.

Students of physical sciences and languages from every region of the country travel further than those reading education and architecture, building and planning. Those wanting courses offered by relatively few institutions, such as medicine and dentistry, and veterinary science, also travel long distances from home to get their qualifications.
