Students set their pace on funding policy

May 12, 1995

The inaccuracies and distortion of fact in "Follow my Labour" must be corrected.

The overwhelming majority of student unions want the review and want to ensure NUS takes the lead in the debate over funding rather than following any political party.

These objectives were set by the student unions at NUS conference, and not by the Labour Party.

We are determined that the outcome of our policy review is student-centred and therefore best placed to influence the outcome of political parties currently conducting their own reviews of education funding, rather than simply remaining in a reactive position anxiously awaiting their reviews.
