(Photograph) - Plea fee: Former Bar student Cecilia Hulse faces possible legal costs of up to Pounds 100,000 after losing her High Court appeal over a decision by the Council of Legal Education to fail her on the Bar school's vocational course. Ms Hulse petitioned the CLE for an alleged breach of natural justice, when it turned down recommendations that she should be considered a "deemed pass" after her course score fell short by 0.7 of a mark. The judge, Mr Justice MacPherson, sitting as a Visitor, rejected her evidence because it fell outside the parameters of a judicial review - the only terms on which the court would hear her case. She is also denied legal aid.
