The Wellcome Trust has two new members of its board of governors. Bryan Grenfell, who is the Kathryn Briger and Sarah Fenton professor of ecology, evolution and public affairs at Princeton University, and Tobias Bonhoeffer, director of the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, start in September.
Brendan McCormack, head of the division of nursing at Queen Margaret University, has been given a fellowship by the Royal College of Nursing.
John Tasioulas has been appointed to the inaugural chair in politics, philosophy and law at King’s College London. He is currently the Quain professor of jurisprudence at University College London.
A University of Bath mathematician has been elected to lead the International Mathematical Olympiad. Geoff Smith, senior lecturer in Bath’s department of mathematical sciences, will hold the position until 2018 and is the first British person to hold the post.
Queen Mary University of London has named Jonathan Morgan academic registrar and council secretary. He joins from the University of Roehampton, where he has served as academic registrar since 2009.
