Office workers now have an excuse to play games in the name of science. Computer scientists at Newcastle University have developed a computer program that could turn manual tasks into a form of entertainment, while also helping companies to tackle online spammers. The computer game, Magic Bullet, turns labelling - a process that helps software to tell humans and computers apart and prevent spamming - into an online shooting game. Labelling is necessary but cannot be automated.
