UAE orders new curricula with entrepreneurial focus

Stanford University to assist in development of programmes to be introduced in January

New university curricula that include training in innovation and entrepreneurship are to be introduced in the United Arab Emirates in collaboration with Stanford University.

The initiative, which will apply in both public and private 中国A片 institutions, will come into force in January 2016.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and the vice-president of the UAE, said that the new curricula would “prepare the new generation for the future, for a new world that requires different skills”.

“Developing the right educational curriculums and tools will support the UAE in maintaining its global competitiveness over the next decade,” he said, . “The coming generations will be required to develop the skills of innovation, analysis and entrepreneurship to keep pace with the rapid changes in technology.”

The partnership with Stanford will cover the development of the new curricula and the training of academic staff. Lecturers from the UAE will also travel to California to visit Stanford and Silicon Valley.
