The prime minister believes that it is essential to reduce the numbers of immigrants. Whatever the cost. Already, non-European Union students know that, if admitted, they are tolerated only while they are paying substantial fees, after which they must immediately leave. The home secretary proposes further restrictions, which after Brexit can apply to all. Nevertheless immigrants continue to increase. We must not only stop them coming in but get rid of those already here. But who, exactly? Britain is a nation of immigrants. Every person in the UK is either an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants.
The only logical conclusion is that we must, all of us, leave these islands without delay. And Mesdames May and Rudd could set an inspiring example by being the first to go.
