The department of psychology at Reading University has embarked on a three-year research project on the mental health of young people, looking particularly at the factors that contribute to resilience in adolescence and the ability of some people to do well under adverse circumstances.
The research seeks to examine characteristic ways individuals take to deal with stress. Sophia Leontopoulou is trying to find schools that would be willing to hand out questionnaires to pupils aged 12 to 14 and needs assistance urgently.
If anyone involved in education is able to help in any way, please contact: Sophia Leontopoulou, Department of Psychology, University of Reading, 3 Earley Gate, Whiteknights, Reading, RG6 2AL, Tel: 01734 875123 ext 8532.
