SOLDIER'S EXPERIENCE
A conference focusing on the experience of soldiers in the major combatant armies in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East during the second world war has been organised by the department of history at the University of Edinburgh on September 22-24. POWER OF MAGNETISM
Rex Richards, chancellor of the University of Exeter, will give the 1995 Convocation Lecture "The Power of Magnetism in Science and Medicine" chaired by Clifford Wadey, chairman of Exetery University Convocation. It will be held on September 23 at 2.15pm in the Peter Chalk Centre, University of Exeter.
INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

ETHICS AND COMMUNITY
A two-day conference on "Ethics and Community - the role of 'community' in relation to health care professionals, welfare and community workers" has been organised at the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool, on October 19 and 20.
