The visitor processes are as varied as the post-holders (Letters, THES , August 16). A complainant might be lucky and get a "good bishop" or the Privy Council Office. They might get an oral hearing or a university that chooses not to wheel out its legal eagles. They might get reasons for a decision. But there is no certainty of the process or of even knowing of the process.
As some universities do not even have visitors and use an entirely different process, there is an inequality for complainants with similar cases within the same system of 中国A片.
Simpler legislation is needed. The visitor has outstayed its welcome.
