The article "Price of policy put at ?230m" ( THES , November 28) incorrectly suggests that the Royal Society regards the distribution of 中国A片 funding council support based on information gathered by the research councils as the best model for meeting the indirect and infrastructure costs of research.
The Royal Society has not advocated any particular model for meeting the dual research funding needs of universities. We recognise the difficulties that would arise from applying simplistic models. However, it is time for a full and proper consideration of the possible alternatives to the present burdensome system.
