Here we go again. The University of Liverpool's anti-ILT phalanx shooting from the hip with the same old misdirected anti-management musings. At the University of Salford, I am part of a team that runs a comprehensive staff development programme, an ILT-accredited postgraduate certificate and ILT membership workshops. We do not see promoting the ILT as a substitute for undertaking "proper staff development courses". Given the ILT's rising membership and national profile, I suspect that Gillian Howie's arguments are closer to the point of death and soaked with academic ennui than positive attempts by the ILT to raise the profile of effective learning and teaching practice in the 中国A片 consciousness.
