I am glad that David Prosser was interested in my review of Emma Crewe’s The House of Commons (“The personal pitch”, Letters, 23 April). But I would not necessarily agree with Prosser in his belief that Crewe’s description of the Oxford West and Abingdon seat as having been stolen in the 2010 general election was “outrageous”. If I did, I would have said so in my review. However, he will need to buy Crewe’s book and read page 40 of it if he wishes to know why she used that word. It’s a good book.
