The Department of Psychology (http://www.LN.edu.hk/psy/) builds on the strengths of faculty in the field of positive occupational health psychology, human-computer interactions, and cross-cultural psychology. In line with the liberal arts tradition of the University, the Department is also strongly committed to providing high quality teaching and a supportive learning environment to students.

General Requirements

The Business Psychology Programme is looking for full-time instructors to teach undergraduate psychology courses. The appointees are expected to teach a broad range of subjects for the programme, including Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Business Psychology and Organizational Behavior, Research Methods for Psychology, Statistics for Psychology, Negotiation, Judgement, and Decision Making in Organizations, Introduction to Consumer Psychology, etc. The appointees will have to provide support to the operation of the Programme, including programme promotion and student recruitment.

Applicants should have a PhD Degree in relevant fields in Psychology. Relevant experience in teaching courses related to work and organizational psychology, research methods and statistics is highly preferred.

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointee is expected to: i) teach relevant courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate final projects; ii) generate research outputs with high impact and participate in competitive grant application exercises; iii) assist the Department with administration and curriculum development.

Requirements

Applicants for the position should have:


	A PhD degree in applied linguistics or a relevant area;
	Good track record of publications, grants, awards;
	Some experience in teaching or developing courses in digital humanities, corpus linguistics, or sociolinguistics.


An appointee at the level of Assistant Professor should, besides being an effective teacher, demonstrate great potential to produce quality research output in the very near future.

The Department of Sociology and Social Policy brings together scholars with international research experience and publication records in the major areas of Sociology and Social Policy. Over the years, our faculty members have been the recipients of the University’s Research Excellence Award and Teaching Excellence Award. The Department offers undergraduate teaching in Sociology, Social and Public Policy, and Health and Social Services Management, while hosting an MSocSc Programme in Comparative Social Policy (International) (IMCSP). We have been consistently successful in attracting MPhil and PhD students from around the world, particularly the recipients of the Hong Kong RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme, and obtaining the General Research Fund (GRF) and other external competitive grants. General Requirements

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Sociology, Social Policy, Social Work, Health Studies or other related disciplines, with relevant teaching and research experience. Applicants are required to provide their research portfolio, publication record, and teaching evaluation among other relevant information. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are essential. Experience with conducting state-of-the-art social research will be a distinct advantage. The appointee should be able to take up teaching duties in some of the courses on the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) Programme, including but not limited to: “Introduction to Health and Social Care”, “Fundraising and Programme Evaluation”, “Health and Social Service Provisions for Special Populations”, “Health and Social Service Project”, and “Social Innovation & Social Enterprises”.
