对于 University of Sopron

The University of Sopron has a history that can be traced back to 1735 when the School for Training Mining Officers was established. In 1904 the school became the Hungarian Royal Mining and Forestry College.

Thirty years later, the college joined the Hungarian Royal József Nádor University of Technology and Economics as the Faculty of Mining, Metallurgy and Forestry. In 1996 the university was renamed the University of Sopron.

As its name suggests, the university is located in Sopron, a city in western Hungary.

There are four faculties at the university: Alexander Lamfalussy Faculty of Economics, Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy, faculty of forestry, and Simonyi Karoly Faculty of Engineering, Wood Sciences and Applied Arts.

The university currently offers just three undergraduate degree programmes: BA in international business economics, BA in tourism and catering, and BSc in timber and industry.

There are five master’s programmes available for postgraduate students: MA in international economy and business, MA in education science, MSc in environmental engineering, MSc in nature conservation engineering and MSc in timber industry.

For students looking to further their studies, there are three doctoral programmes on offer: PhD in management and organisation sciences, PhD in wood sciences and technologies, and PhD in forestry and wildlife management.
