对于 Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman
Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman (SBUK) is a research institution and university of engineering and science in Iran. Founded as The University of Kerman by a wealthy businessman named Alireza Afzalipour in 1972, it was the first university in the whole province of Kerman and also included the college of medicine.
After the Iranian Revolution in 1979, it was renamed the Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman and the college of medicine separated into its own entity, now called the Kerman University of Medical Sciences.
SBUK offers both undergraduate and postgraduate studies and is among the top 10 universities and research institutes in Iran, with a prestigious reputation for research and education. Covering 5 million square metres, it is one of Iran’s largest universities. There are two major campuses; Afzalipour Campus, in the southern part of Kerman City, which includes faculty buildings, research centres, the main library, residential halls, the mosque, administrative buildings and several sport venues.
The second is the Campus of Technology and Engineering, in the western part of Kernan City, but there are other smaller satellite campuses spread out across the province of Kerman. There are also plans to open an international campus on the island of Qeshm in the Persian Gulf.
The Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman has different sport venues and has demonstrated a long tradition of student participation in sport and recreation. The main sports complex of the university consists of several basketball, volleyball and tennis courts and a 5,000 spectator football stadium.
Notable alumni include Eshaq Jahangiri, first vice president of Hassan Rouhani's government, and Majid Namjoo, Iranian Minister of Energy.
