Pavol Jozef ?afárik University in Ko?ice, founded in 1959, was named after the 19th century Slovak historian, philologist, and poet, Pavel Jozef Safarik. It is the second oldest, traditional university in Slovakia.
There are five faculties that students at the university can choose to study in, namely arts, medicine, law, public administration, and science. Classes are taught in both Slovak and English. The university also boasts an Institution of Physical Education and Sport, as well as a botanical garden and a library with excellent resources.
The university’s Technology and Innovation Park is the home of high-quality scientific and technological research. The Park’s main focus is in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, and information technologies.
