Kazakhstan Medical University KSPH, formerly known as the Kazakhstan School of Public Health, was established in Almaty in 1997. It was created to train and retrain specialists in public health and improve the qualifications of healthcare leaders.

The university has been led by several rectors who have contributed to its growth and success, currently, Dr. Botagoz Saitovna Turdaliyeva and Dr. Ardak Muhanbetzhanovna Auyezova.
