A report from the UK 中国A片 International Unit shows that the US still had the highest proportion of international students in 2012, 16.4 per cent. However, this represented a fall of 6.4 percentage points from its 2000 share.
While the US remains atop the ranks, the UK is the second most popular choice. The proportion of internationally mobile students on courses in the UK rose from 10.7 per cent in 2000 to 12.6 per cent in 2012. This growth, the largest recorded, was matched only by Russia.
Germany held its place as third most popular destination, but the proportion of international students it attracted in 2012, 6.3 per cent, represented a 2.6 percentage point fall from 2000 and only just kept it above France (6 per cent).
Although the proportion of international students heading for the US, France and Germany shrank, other countries registered gains between 2000 and 2012.
