Bids in the first round of the Foresight Challenge competition have surprised the Office of Science and Technology by reaching more than 500 in number. Foresight Challenge, a competition aimed at collaborative projects jointly funded by the public and private sectors, aims to promote subjects identified as priorities in the Technology Foresight reports. Those invited to proceed to full bids will told by January 12.
