Green light in Glamorgan

十月 13, 1995

Environment activist and Greenpeace supporter, computer studies undergraduate Wayne Putterill appears to have found the right spot for publicising his local society and Greenpeace internationally.

Wayne is coming to the end of his work experience year as an employee of the University of Glamorgan working on its Web server. This included setting up web pages for his student union Greenpeace club information pages, with favourable responses world-wide, including praise from an anonymous United States Navy source.

Over the past two months the site has attracted 1,800 "visitors", increasing 30 or 40 a day as controversy continues over French nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific.

The site's "Stop French Nuclear Testing" page includes a link for those with the right software to the "Day of the Jacques" television advertisement, banned in France. Wayne returns to his studies this month, the third year of a computer studies degree, but said he would continue to maintain the page.
