CONTEMPORARY DIVERSITY The British American Arts Association, has organised a one-day seminar and two-day international conference as follows: February 7 -- "Cultural Institutions: Technique and Innovation in Education", where participants will have an opportunity to look at the purpose of education programmes and discuss elements of effective educational programming; February 8-9 -- "Responding to Contemporary Diversity" will focus on aspects of education in arts and the function and financing of such programmes as well as the state of the art in technology, collaboration, training and management. RELIGIOUS LANGUAGE Roehampton Institute is holding a conference entitled "The Nature of Religious Language". Its theme covers the limits and possibilities of language in religious discourse, respects in which religious language differs from secular language and the reasons why differences arise. The conference will be held at Digby Stuart College, Roehampton Institute, London, London SW15 on February 11 and 12. CHEMISTRY CELEBRATIONS The 100th Faraday Discussion entitled "Atmospheric Chemistry; Measurements, Mechanisms and Models" will be held at the University of East Anglia in April. Also in honour of the centenary, the Royal Society of Chemistry has arranged a "Celebration of Physical Chemistry" at the Royal Institution, which will feature a series of talks. HERCULES AND SISYPHUS Paul Wallace's inaugural lecture "Hercules or Sisyphus? Academic Primary Health Care into the Third Millenium" will take place at 5pm on January 10 in lecture theatre 1 at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. Paul Wallace is the David Cohen professor of primary health care. The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine is situated in Rowland Hill Street, NW3 2PR.
