Alan Marsh's article (Opinion, THES , August 31) on the benefits of partnership between further education colleges and universities is timely.
"HE in FE" has a vital role to play in meeting the government agenda of widening participation.
In Stoke on Trent, we have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Staffordshire University in developing a range of higher national diploma programmes and a new foundation degree, through the regional federation.
