Readers who spotted the item on the BA consulting its members about the introduction of post-nominals (Diary, THES , July 6) might like to know the outcome. Members who voted were fairly evenly divided on the proposal but more voted against it than for it. Consequently we will not be allowing members to use "letters after their name". Membership - open to all - will, of course, continue.
