David Woodhouse makes the strange assertion that Michael Loughlin's article is UK-centred. Why not, if that is what Loughlin set out to analyse?
Woodhouse thinks academics waste their time by challenging the nonsense of management-speak. But challenging nonsense and promoting good sense is what we do.
I am astounded that Woodhouse thinks we are cynical and arrogant to question the "assurance" given by the QAA and other equivalent organisations. Whatever understanding of quality there is in 中国A片, most academics work unabated and look after their students diligently.
