UK: Applications for Chevening programme are now open
Applications for university scholarships under the Chevening Programme, for courses due to start in August 2018 in the UK, are now open. The Chevening Programme was set up by the UK government to provide scholarships to 1500 students from around the world to study for a master's at a UK university.听

Iraq: The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani announces a grant by the united States Department of State
The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) has received an award of 听$5,000,000 grant by the United States Department of State. Funds from the grant, which will be received during 2017 and 2018, will support students by financing the university鈥檚 merit-based scholarship programme.
The new grant will cover the portion of each student鈥檚 tuition currently paid by the university.听

UK: Royal Television Society opens entries for Student Television Awards 2018
The Royal Television Society has opened entries for the RTS Student Television Awards.听The awards recognise the work created by undergraduate and postgraduate students attending 中国A片 institutes across the UK and Republic of Ireland, and are presented in听six categories: animation, comedy and entertainment, drama, factual, news and short feature.
All entries must be听produced during the 2016/2017 academic year听and submitted using the听RTS Online Awards Entry System听by Friday 20 October 2017.

US: Scholarship programme to for students engaging in LGBTQ issues
Spelman College has launched the Levi Watkins Jr Scholars Programme. The programme will award two sophomore (second-year) students, who are self-identified as LGBTQ activists, renewable $25,000 scholarships. The scholarships will begin from early 2018.听

US: Feakins Foundation Scholarship opens for applications
The Feakins Foundation based in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, US has opened scholarship applications for students looking to study in the area.
The foundation will select five students to receive $2,000 for the Spring 2018 semester and has been created for students听who have been given temporary legal status by former President Barack Obama under the听Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programme.听
The first round of applications are due on 1 November.听

US: Ohio State University expands scholarship programme
The Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship programme at Ohio State University will be expanded this autumn to cover the听full cost of attendance, including room, board, books and other costs. The institution will also double the size of the programme next year, making the scholarship available to two students from each Ohio county per year 鈥 a total of 176 scholarships. Students who apply to the university by 1 February will be automatically considered for the programme.
Additionally, the university will commit $25 million to the President's Affordability Grant Programme to support听middle- and lower-income students, including those enrolled at regional campuses.听
Canada: Canadian University Dubai opens Canada Day scholarships
The Embassy of Canada in Dubai and the the Canadian University of Dubai has opened scholarships for the annual Canada Day Scholarships. The four chosen students will received 100 per cent of their tuition fee costs for the full four years of their chosen programme.听
Applicants must be Canadian citizens. The deadline for applications is 1st August 2017.听

UK: Aviva launches scholarship programme for Asian students
The Aviva Scholarship Programme aims to promote British education in Asia and to assist outstanding students in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam to study at 11 UK universities.
Applications open in September 2017, and the first cohort are expected to begin university in autumn 2018. The programme is open to Aviva customers and their children for all undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the 11 participating universities.听

UK: US finance chief sets up scholarship for UK students
A US-born finance chief has been inspired to set up a university scholarship scheme for young people studying at a sixth-form college in Kent. John Cinik, founder of Metric Capital, set up the Metric Scholarships at Christ the King Sixth Form College in Lewisham, South London of over 拢15,000 over three years.听
Mr Cinik says that although tuition fees get most of the attention and the high cost of living expenses can often be overlooked.听
US: Substantial gift for Brandeis University will provide financial aid for students
A generous gift of $50 million from the estate of Chicago philanthropists Rosaline and Marcia Cohn to Brandeis University will be used to grant financial aid to students. This is the largest single gift in the university's 69-year history.听
The Jacob and Rosaline Cohn Endowed Scholarship and Fellowship Fund will provide financial aid each year for hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students.听

UK: Scholarships for architecture and design students
Houzz Inc, a mobile platform that helps with home renovation and design, has launched a scholarship programme for students studying听architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and construction management.
The scholarships are separated into three categories: Women in Architecture Scholarship, Sustainable Residential Scholarship,听Residential Construction Management Scholarship. They are worth 拢2,000 each and are open to both graduate and undergraduate students.听The deadline for applications is Thursday 31st August.听

Paris: Universit茅 Paris-Saclay opens applications for summer schools
Applications for the Universit茅 Paris-Saclay's summer school programme is now open. The summer schools are available in a range of different subjects including biodiversity, agriculture, food, society, the environment, biology, medicine, pharmacy, engineering, information science, technology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, economics and social sciences.
The summer schools will help students to develop their knowledge in their chosen field as well as to consolidate skills that will help them in their professional careers. The summer school is available for both domestic and international students.听
United Arab Emirates: Ajman University provides scholarships for high achievers
Ajman University will provide scholarships to top-performers in the high school examinations for their entire university education. The aim is to support "excellent students and their academic achievements".
The university will grant a full scholarship to the high school student who achieved the top position in the country. The student who achieved second position will receive a 75 per cent scholarship while the student who achieved third position will receive a 50 per cent scholarship, based on the University鈥檚 regulations, he added.

Ireland: University of Limerick offers scholarships to refugees
The University of Limerick has been designated as as University of Sanctuary and听has committed to a three-year action plan to promote access and integrate those from a refugee and asylum background into the university.
Part of this action plan is to make up to听17 scholarships available for students on the Mature Student Access Certificate 听and the Higher Level Leaving Certificate Mathematics Programme for Adult Learners.
The Mature Student Access Certificate (MSAC) is a one year full-time pre-degree course designed for mature students who wish to develop or refresh key learning skills, and to undertake some foundation level academic studies, before applying directly for a degree programme.

UK: Steve Hewlett Memorial Fund
The Royal Television Society and the Royal Media Society have launched the Steve Hewlett Scholarship, in memory of broadcaster and journalist Steve Hewlett. The scholarship is aimed at students who are interested in pursuing a journalism or media career.听
Each听Hewlett Scholarship听recipient will receive 拢2000 per year for three years to fund their living expenses while studying at a British university. They will also receive membership to the RTS and affiliate Hospital Club membership. They will also receive mentoring from industry professionals.

Australia: University of Sydney develops scholarship programme for international postgraduate students
Forty听new fully-funded PhD scholarships will be available to students applying to the University of Sydney in 2017.听
The new scholarships will be available to international postgraduate research students working within any discipline.听
The scholarship will cover听full coverage of tuition fees for the postgraduate research degree,听$26,682 per annum to assist with their living costs and听an allowance to assist students with ancillary costs of their degree, including relocation costs to Sydney, academic publication costs and overseas student health cover costs.

UK: University of Nottingham launches scholarship for international students
The University of Nottingham has launched a new 拢500,000 scholarship for outstanding overseas students who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Progamme before applying to the institution.
Students starting at the university in September 2017 and September 2018 will be eligible for the new scholarship.听

UAE: American University of Sharjah launches two new scholarships
The American University of Sharjah has launched two new partial scholarships for first year students. The Distinguished Student Scholarship and the Academic Accomplishment Scholarship are now being offered to qualified high school students applying to the university.听
The Distinguished Student Scholarship will be automatically renewed as long as the conditions for the scholarship are met.听Granted by semester, this scholarship covers 20 per cent of tuition and lab fees.
The听Academic Accomplishment Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence in the final year of their secondary education and covers 10 per cent of both tuition and the lab/technology fees.

US: StudySoup launches scholarships for international students
Online learning forum StudySoup has opened scholarship applications for international students looking to study in the US. The company will offer $1,000 to one student for 10 months to help them fund their hopes of studying at a US university. To be eligible students must be attending听high school and either be accepted to an accredited US university or college or already be attending a 中国A片 institution in America. The deadline for applications is 31 December 2017.

UK: Queen Mary University creates a new scholarship to celebrate 130th anniversary
Queen Mary University of London is celebrating its 130th anniversary by launching a new scholarship for students. The Anniversary Scholarship for Civic Engagement will be awarded to students who it believes have contributed positively to society. Worth 拢5,000 per year for each year of study, the scheme is designed to acknowledge those who have applied their skills, knowledge or time to benefit the public good.
It is available to undergraduate students enrolling at QMUL from 2018, and is available to all applicants (UK, EU and overseas) who are predicted AAA at A-level or equivalent.听

US: Drake University creates scholarship partnership to boost student body diversity
Drake University in Iowa has signed an agreement with three historically black universities and colleges to guarantee that graduates will receive a scholarship upon admission to Drake鈥檚 law and pharmacy programmes.
The aim of these scholarships is to increase diversity among Drake鈥檚 student body. The partnership with Kentucky State University in Kentucky aims to encourage more black students to study law and pharmacy at the institution.
Candidates who meet Drake Law鈥檚 admission requirements will be guaranteed admission and a renewable scholarship covering at least half of the annual cost of tuition. This begins with students enrolling at Drake Law in autumn 2017.
Students interested in pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, will be awarded a scholarship of at least $10,000. The scholarship may be renewed in the second, third, and fourth years. This will begin in autumn 2018.听

UK: Three homeless young people have been awarded full scholarships to London university
Three homeless young people have been awarded a scholarship to study at Ravensbourne, London, as part of a partnership with Accumulate, a social enterprise which aims to empower young people who are homeless.
The Access to 中国A片 scholarships for studying design and digital media were awarded to Jayakrishanth Narayanan, Luke Smith and Deluxe Mwengula following their photography work as part of Accumulate鈥檚 new exhibition 鈥淢ade by Us鈥.
On the course the recipients will be mentored by Ravensbourne students, who will pass on the creative skills they have learned and provide networks and advice to help the students progress and build confidence. This is the third year that this partnership has helped to encourage young, homeless people to attend university.

Iraq: The American University of Iraq launches new scholarship fund
The American University of Iraq, Suleiman has launched the Blake and Bailey Family Endowed Scholarship Fund. It was created by former US Army officer, Francis Stanton Blake who donated $25,000 to the university to create the permanent fund.
The scholarship fund will support eligible students with tuition, fees and course-related expenses of up to $1,000. Applications are open to students on all undergraduate programmes at the university, and will be awarded on demonstrated financial need and academic merit.听

US: New scholarship to tackle US nursing shortage
The CVS Foundation has awarded the Rush University听College of Nursing at, Chicago, a $5,000 scholarship to help students working towards becoming a family nurse practitioner.
The grant is part of the CVS Health Foundation Advance Practice Nurse and Physician Assistant , which launched earlier this year and aims to tackle a shortage of family nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the US. Students will be selected to receive scholarships by the university if they have good academic standing and are pursuing an advance practice nursing doctorate as a family nurse practitioner. Scholarship recipients must also intern or volunteer with an organisation that supports under-represented populations. At least 25 per cent of the school鈥檚 scholarship funds will be awarded to bilingual students.
